Internal products for the Mercedes-Benz enterprise data lake on Azure. In the final year I was project lead for MBmigrationtool, leading a team of 7 with Mercedes-Benz as stakeholder; the team owned backend, frontend and Azure operations end to end.
- Fully automated migration of multi-terabyte data between two data-lake generations (DataLakeTerra → DataLakeMars), covering CosmosDB and Azure Data Lake Storage resources.
- Built the React and TypeScript interface that gives internal clients a self-service way to start, configure and track their migrations.
- Part of the team responsible for the Azure resources behind data storage and access management.
- Worked on a custom solution used with Pulumi to orchestrate cloud processes and provision resources for internal clients.

Principles

How I work

Eight rules I hold myself to on every project.

Systems over slogans
Name the tools, the volumes and the trade-offs. A diagram beats an adjective.
Hard problems are the job
Migrations, legacy pipelines and unclear requirements are the work, not the exception.
Infrastructure is product
Pulumi and Terraform code gets the same review, tests and versioning as application code.
Production is the proof
Done means deployed and used, not merged.
Security is a design input
Access management and least privilege are decided in the design, not patched in later.
Accessible by default
Keyboard, contrast and reduced motion are part of done, on this site too.
Failures deserve observability
If it can break at 03:00, it should say why before anyone has to guess.
Every tool needs a reason
Tests first, code review always, and AI-assisted tools held to the same standard as the rest.
